5 common spelling mistakes that let you down


OK, I've had enough of seeing the same spelling mistakes in printed materials, e-mails, posters and  newsletters.  Poor spelling REALLY does reflect badly on your business.

Since I cover the most common grammar and spelling mistakes during one of my workshops I thought I would share my top five

    Such posts are a feast for linguists! Thank you Jane for posting it.
    As for the spelling mistakes, I would also add 'leave' instead of 'live' and 'where' confused with 'were'.
    Out of your list, no. 1 and 3 are my pet peeves.

    Jane,
    I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who finds these sort of errors really annoying. My personal pet hate though is when people use an apostrophe to denote a plural - Why would anyone do that??!

    I didn't realise how annoying I find these types of errors until I started to use Facebook where many people seem to get it wrong. Using your/you're seems to annoy me the most.
    The others are two/to/too, lose/loose and affect/effect.
